Seoul & London 14 June 2018: Leading Korean carbon credit company CPE Cell as specialty developer within CDM and Renewable Energy has signed an Agreement with the world’s largest and longest running Carbon Exchange company, London based Carbon Trade Exchange (CTX).
The deal gives CPE Cell access to a Global supply of Carbon Credits for both compliance with the Korean ETS (Carbon Market) and for corporations to take voluntary action to become ‘carbon neutral’.
CPE Cell has almost 20 years’ experience in the Carbon origination space and has leveraged that knowledge to transform into what they believe will become Korea’s leading supplier of carbon credits of ALL types in Korea and across Asia.

CTX created a world first recently when the company established an agreement to link with the UNFCCC CDM Registry to trade CERs into the global voluntary market. The two parties intend to use this unique technology to streamline the cumbersome supply process of CER carbon credits to Korean and Asian buyers. This CPE deal is fully supported by the CTX ‘parent’ company Global Environmental Markets (GEM), a FinTech company which develops exchange technology across multiple sectors. Wayne Sharpe, GEM’s CTX founder & CEO states “Korea is the biggest new carbon frontier today and we have been blessed to be able to engage and partner with such a respected and prestigious firm as CPE Cell. The deal was signed in person at the recent ‘Innovate 4 Climate’ summit in Frankfurt Germany in May at which GEM were a Gold Sponsor. The first major trade of CER’s was completed on the same day as the historic deal between the USA and North Korea was signed in Singapore – a positive omen.

CTX는 최근에 글로벌 자발적 시장에서 탄소배출권(CER)의 거래를 위해 세계 최초로 UNFCCC의 CDM Registry와 직접 연계하여 탄소배출권 계약이 바로 체결될 수 있도록 시스템을 개발하였다. 두 회사는 세계 유일의 특별한 시스템을 이용하여 탄소배출권을 한국 및 아시아 시장의 구매자에게 공급하는 과정을 간소화할 것이다. 씨피이셀과의 이 계약은 CTX의 모회사 인 Global Environmental Markets (GEM)이 지원하고 FinTech는 여러 분야의 거래 기술을 개발하였다. 이 협상은 GEM이 후원하였던 5 월 독일 프랑크푸르트에서 열린 ‘Innovate 4 Climate’ 정상 회의에서 직접 서명되었다. 탄소배출권의 첫 번째 주요 거래는 싱가포르에서 미국과 북한 간의 역사적인 협상이 서명된 것과 같은 날에 완료되었다. 이것은 긍정적인 징조이다.
