Carbon Trade Exchange was lead sponsor at the Big Green Event Expo, held at the Hilton Ageas Bowl, Southampton on 02 October 2018.

The event brought together large organisations from the public and private sectors, as well as medium-sized businesses, associations and groups, to showcase the latest solutions for environmental and facilities management, and corporate and social responsibility.

Wayne Sharp, CEO and Founder of CTX, delivered his keynote speech, outlining the the importance of corporate climate action, carbon neutrality, and the business drivers for measuring, managing and reducing carbon emissions. Other speakers included representatives from the Institute of Environmental Management Association – IEMA, and the Bank of England.

The event coincided with the UK launch of CarbonView™, a world-leading energy and carbon reporting software developed by Simble Solutions (UK) Limited (Simble or SIS), for which Carbon Trade Exchange (CTX) are the official reseller and go-to market partner for the UK and Europe.

CarbonView™ provides the perfect solution for businesses affected by new regulations on energy and carbon reporting. Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) legislation, which comes into effect in April 2019, requires large, private companies in the UK to publicly report on carbon emissions, energy use and energy efficiency measures. The Big Green Event proved to be a great opportunity for the CTX team to engage with with companies on their carbon strategies. It was clear that carbon reporting will be a new challenge for many large, private businesses; but there was also a strong  consensus on the importance of effective environmental management as strategy for business success.
